London B-Type Bus - 'Newcastle Corporation'

The replica London General Omnibus Company B Type Bus was originally built to run somewhere on the South coast. It was purchased in the late 1990's and ran in its London livery until it was repainted into the current Saxe Blue and Ivory Newcastle Corporation livery in 2013.

The model was built from a Keil Kraft London B Type Bus kit, with almost all of the floor removed before being assembled and fitted with a scratch built drivers cab. It has a chassis made from 1½ mm black plastic card glued to the ends of an N sized battery box and is fitted with a Faller lorry front axle, steering arm and rear wheels and the 1:64 motor / gearbox which were all supplied by DCC Train Automation. The battery holder, the normally closed reed switch and the on / off switch were bought from other sources.
