Gateshead No.14

No.14 was built in 1925 by the Gateshead and District Tramways Co. where it ran until the system closed in 1951. It was then saved for preservation by Sir George Foxwood-Smyth Snr. who restored it into its final livery without adverts, which were painted out when the contracts expired, before storing it until it was needed for service on the estate tramway.

The model was built using a 3D printed body drawn by Mark Casson, now available from Andy Burrows and sold under his Tramads name. It is fitted with a scratch built chassis by Alan Kirkman from plastic sections using Halling bogies, silicone drive tubes and a central motor.
